Prince Ōnamuji in the culture of Japanese
Ōnamuji (also known as the Ōkuninushi) was a descendant of the god Susanoo. He and his many brothers, competed for the hand of Princess Yakami Inaba. While traveling from Izumo to Inaba to make the courtyard, his brothers Ōnamuji shown a ruthless sick rabbit, which really was a divine metamorphosis. But when the latter arrives Ōnamuji, he heals the rabbit, who tells him that he will be one who will marry the princess, Yakami.
Samples Ōnamuji going through a lot and even the hero was killed by his jealous brothers twice. However, every time he is saved by his mother, Kusanda-hime. Pursued by enemies, he is venturing into Susanoo’s realm where the goddess meets Suseri-hime, daughter of god avenger. Testing the Siret Susanoo Ōnamuji it several times, but finally goes to his side and he predicts victory over his brothers.
Although Yamato tradition attributes the creation of Izanagi and Izanami Japanese islands, Izumo tradition claims that Ōnamuji, together with a dwarf god called Sukunabiko, will help create, or at least, the perfection of creation islands of Japan.
